These playful mittens work up quickly in worsted weight yarn. A surprise of color is hidden inside the hemmed cuff. For a special treat, use an extra soft yarn for the inside hem like the cashmere used in the sample.

A small amount (about 20 yards) of contrasting yarn is used for the hem. I used Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 6 ply, but any soft yarn in a worsted weight will do.

The sample shown used approximately 150 yards of yellow, 150 yards of brown, and 20 yards of aqua for the hem.

This pattern is written for one size. Small adjustments in gauge will achieve other sizes. If you would like to adjust the size, 24 sts = 4” will create a 7” circumference, 18 sts = 4” will create a 9.25” circumference.
The length is customizable.

As always when working stranded colorwork, keep your floats loose to avoid puckering.

A Note about needle size: There is quite a bit of gauge variation among knitters. For those who knit colorwork more tightly it may be necessary to go up one or more needle sizes in the colorwork section in order to obtain gauge.
