Metalwork Tank Top
Many futuristic or science fiction fashions show designs with a metallic look, where the jewellery and the clothing are integrated. I was inspired to design a top which represents the intersection of garment and necklace.
In keeping with the metallic theme, I chose a stainless steel yarn; as an alternative, a silk or silk-blend yarn will also provide the intended metallic sheen.
It can be worn back-to-front, for a demure simple front and a dramatic back view.
Two tops for the price of one!
Hints and tips for working with lace weight, stainless steel yarn are found on my blog, here.
Techniques
Short Rows
Placing beads (using a crochet hook)
Kitchener Stitch (grafting)
I-cord
Knitted Cast On.
Note: You may substitute any lace weight or fingering weight yarn. Lace weight yarn is worked double; fingering weight is worked normally.
