This pattern uses both knit and crochet stitches! The base and trim of the bag are crocheted, while the body is knit.
The pattern is written to be easily adjustable and can therefore accommodate other gauges.

TECHNIQUES USED
Crochet Techniques: chain stitch, single crochet, crocheting in the round.
Knitting Techniques: picking up stitches, the knit stitch, binding off.
YARN
350 yards of lace weight yarn (plant fibers like cotton and linen work best)
NEEDLES & HOOK
US E / 3.5 mm crochet hook
US 10.5 / 6.5 mm 24” circular needles
NOTIONS
scissors, darning/tapestry needle, 5 locking stitch markers
GAUGES
6.5 sts & 7 rows per inch in single crochet before blocking
3.5–4.5 sts & 4.5–5.5 rows per inch in stockinette stitch before blocking (variation in gauge accounts for stretchiness)
MEASUREMENTS
Base measures 7” across. Bag measures 14–18” across and 12–16” tall, depending on how it’s stretched (not counting straps).
