Have a Merry Nelly Christmas!

Nelly the cuddly elephant is ready for a Christmas party with a festive Santa hat and colourful sweater, trimmed with sumptuously fluffy white chenille yarn. The elephant’s sweater and hat can be removed for laundering if required.

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the elephant and outfit are knit in DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4).

RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than 25g in each colour. For the white chenille yarn trims, Sirdar Happy Chenille; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% polyester; one 15g skein.

NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, domed buttons for eyes and black thread to embroider the eyebrows.

SIZES
One size only - 20cm tall (seated).

TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
