Merry Christmas Illusion
The banner shown in the photos is about 110 cm (44”) long and 15 cm (6”) wide. You can easily add extra to each end if you would like it to be scarf length. It was made using DK yarns but the illusion will work using any thickness of yarn.
The red is a normal DK; the white is sparkly but sparkles do not show in the photos. The outer white edging is optional.
If you are making this to be a wall-hanging, or table runner, it is best to work on smaller needles than you would normally use for your chosen yarn.
Illusions are very difficult to photograph and red and white combinations are even more tricky. In real-life the white letters stand out very clearly against the red background, when you view from either side. When you look from directly in front you see only narrow white stripes.
Red DK: approximately 170 metres (190 yards)
White DK: approximately 100 metres (110 yards)
