Merry and Bright Scarf
‘Twas the night before… and you need a quick gift? Stash diving to the rescue! This cheerful scarf was designed to use those extra leftover bits of yarn. Holding a strand of neutral yarn together with each color will help those random leftovers look like they belong together and will stretch out your yardage! This technique creates a beautiful, marled fabric and allows you to use a large hook, making for very speedy stitching! The optional pompoms accent the edges with a punch of whimsy, but they can be substituted with fringe or omitted completely, for a more toned-down look.

Yarn Used for Scarf Shown
WeCrochet Brava (worsted weight, 100% Acrylic; 218 yards 200 m/ 3.5 oz 100 grams: White #28455 (A) 2 skeins; Tidepool #28453 (B) 1 skein; and partial skeins of each of the following: Canary #28416 (C), Mint #28438 (D), Orange #28440 (E), and Espresso #29489 (F).
Gauge
8 sts and 6 rows = 4” 10 cm over Knotted Double Crochet worked in turned rows, blocked.
Notes regarding yarn usage.
Entire scarf used about 740 (850) 677 (777)m yds in total. If you do not have the same quantities of each color - it’s ok! If you plan to use one color throughout the scarf as I did in my sample (with white), you will need 305 (360) yds 279 (330)m of that. But beyond that, you can use scraps of any amount as long as the total yardage for colors B, C, D, E and F is about 435 (490) yds 398 (448)m. If you change the proportions of color, you will need to change the striping pattern, or choose to randomly add stripes of different thicknesses.
