Mermaid Shrug
by Vashti Braha
Most people, even crocheters, are surprised that this is crocheted. The yarn is a novelty “flag” yarn that people usually combine with a smooth yarn when they crochet it. In this design it is used alone, and the big hook makes crocheting it easy.
This shrug travels well--I have rolled this shrug up in a tiny ball in a suitcase and tied it around a tote handle, and it doesn’t wrinkle. If you wash it, it dries fast. The sleeves are long and thin enough that you can tie it around your waist like a belt.
