Mermaid Mittens
Two versions available in the pattern:
- One version in fingering weight yarn
- Another version in sport weight yarn
Mittens are knitted from cuff up in round with set-in thumbs.
Pattern includes written instruction and full charts of both right and left mitten of each version.
Fingering Weight Version:
8” around x 10” tall, thumb 4 3/4” tall from base.
(20.3 cm around x 25.5 cm tall, thumb 12 cm tall from base.)
Needles - US 1 (2.25 mm) and US 2 (2.75mm)
Yarn - Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light
Main Color: 200 yards, Contrast Color: 150 yards.
Gauge - 36 sts x 38 rows = 4” x 4”.
Sport Weight Version:
8” around x 12 1/4” tall, with thumb 4 3/4” from base.
(20.3 cm around x 31 cm tall, thumb 12 cm tall from base.)
Needles - US #2 (2.75mm) and US #3 (3.25 mm)
Yarn - Madelinetosh Tosh Sport
Main Color: 175 yards, Contrast Color: 150 yards.
Gauge - 28 sts x 32 rows = 4” x 4”.

- Knit in round.
- Read Chart.
- Stranded knitting with 2 colors.
- Make increases and decreases.
- Grafting with Kitchener stitches.
