This adorable mermaid is a huge favourite amongst the kiddies in my life. She works up quickly and has crocheted hair that stays nicely in place with a small amount of ribbon.

Tapestry Needle

2 amigurumi eyes (6mm)

Stitches: (US Crochet Terms)
MR: magic ring

ch: chain

sc: single crochet

inc: increase (2sc in one st)

dec: decrease (I prefer invisible decrease)

sl st: slip stitch

BLO: back loop only

FO: fasten off


Feel free to use any yarn you wish. Just make sure the hook matches the yarn. :)

Approximately 30cm long when using Ricorumi DK Cotton Yarn with a 2.25mm hook.
I like to use a really small hook than the recommended on the label so my stitches are tight.
