Meringues always intimidated me, but one day, Pinterest tutorials gave me the courage to try. After popping some egg whites into the stand mixer, I stared in awe as they began to stiffen and peaks formed. It was magic, and I had done it.

These socks came together in a similar way, and so I knew I needed to name them after my favorite magical treat. I wasn’t at all sure how the stitch pattern would work out, but I went crashing along and hoped for the best. When I saw how beautifully the stretched stitches stacked on top of each other after a few repeats, I felt a little of that same thrill.

SIZES
S, M, L

Finished sock dimensions: 7.5” (19.1 cm), 8.75” (22.2 cm), 10” (25.4 cm) circumference (Note: most people like their socks snug, so choose a finished sock size that is slightly smaller than your actual foot)

MATERIALS
Fingering weight yarn, 300-400 yards (274-366 m) (main color), 65-80 yards (59-73 m) (contrast color)

Suggested yarn: Lay Family Yarn Sock Set, 400 yds (365m) main color, 93 yds (85m) contrast color

GAUGE
4” (10 cm) square = 32 stitches x 40 rows in stockinette

One set of needles for your preferred style of small-circumference knitting in a size to match gauge listed above
