Mereki is a versatile wrap featuring a lacey chevron stitch pattern and contrasting parallel borders. Uniquely shaped to be worn any number of ways, the pattern includes two different sizes – small for a scarf or large for a shawl – providing creative options for style or warmth. The rectangular body gives way to angled ends, shaped with simple increases, and is sure to flatter however you wish to wear it.
This pattern includes both charted and written directions for your convenience.

Contrast Colour (CC) “Grasshopper” - approx. 140 yards/110 m
Large (L): approx.1000 yards/ 914m 4ply/fingering weight yarn

Needles: US 5/3.75mm long circulars
Notions: Tapestry needle to weave in ends.

GAUGE: 20 st = 4”/10cm in garter stitch (blocked)
Gauge is not crucial for this project but will affect yardage.

*FINISHED MEASUREMENTS (after blocking):
Width at centre: (S) 6.5”/17cm; (L) 10”/25cm
Short edge: (S) 50”/128cm; (L) 50”/128cm
Long edge: S 73”/ 186 cm; (L) 103”/260cm

Suitable for Adventurous beginners/intermediate knitters, worked in garter stitch with yarn overs and simple increases and decreases. It does include a central double decrease - described in the pattern.
