Meredith is a seamless, classic summer tee with a brilliant fit and beautiful details.

Designed for summer yarns such as silk and cotton, Meredith is all about simple elegance, with gentle drape and eyelet finishes at the hems, cuff, and neckline.

Worked from the top-down, the pattern for Meredith includes options for a width-based full bust adjustment, horizontal bust darts, and cropped or full length bodies – meaning you can create the fit that’s perfect for you.

Key information
Meredith uses a contiguous shoulder construction, and is started working back and forwards in rows with shoulder shaping before the front is joined in the round at the bottom of the neckline. The sleeves and body are shaped with increases, and the optional bust adjustment is worked, before the sleeves are placed on hold.

If you choose to work the bust adjustments, you can then work the horizontal bust dart and decrease out the extra width from the bust adjustment. The body is worked down to your preferred length, before the hem is finished with eyelet lace. Finally, the sleeves are worked in the round and finished with eyelet lace, before stitches are picked up at the neckline and finished with the same eyelet detail.

Meredith is written in 9 sizes to fit a full bust from 28in – 66in (including full bust adjustment). Where numbers vary, instructions are written as 1 (2, 3, 4, 5) 6, 7, 8, 9.

Recommended yarn
Meredith is designed for 4ply/fingering weight yarn. For a lightweight, summer fabric, I’ve worked samples in silk and cotton, which both give the t-shirt beautiful drape.

The olive green sample is worked in Knitting For Olive Pure Silk (250m per 50g) in Olive, and the pale blue is worked in Krea Deluxe Organic Cotton (165m per 50g) in 22.

Sizing
Meredith is designed to fit with 0-2in / 0-5cm of positive ease at the full bust. As the pattern has fit options, the best way to get the right fit is to start with your actual upper bust measurement and pick the size closest to that. This is taken under the armpits, above your full bust, and gives a truer reflection of your overall frame than a full bust measurement.

Compare the finished chest circumference of this size with your full bust measurement to determine whether or not to work the optional bust adjustment; you can add either 2in / 5cm or 4in / 10cm to the bust of your sweater by working this adjustment.

For reference, the olive sample is a size 4 with a 4in full bust adjustment, worn on a 47in full bust.

See the sizing table in the photos for full details on sizing.
