This bag looks like it could be colorwork or fair-isle or at the very least like it could be slightly complicated. But, it’s not.
Two strands of solid color skeins of Wool of the Andes are held together throughout the bag. The yarns twist and turn naturally as you knit along causing the dancing colors.
Knit in the round, all the yarn ends from the stripes are hidden between the outer layer of the bag and the inner knit lining layer. Only the cast on and bind off ends have to be officially woven in. (Insert a huge sigh of relief here.)
Three color combinations are pictured at the Knit Picks site:
’The Salsa’ (shown here as the finished bag)
’The Collegiate’ (blue, purple, tan and grey)
The Forest Floor’ (a full range of greens)
