Mitered squares are addictive! I was trying to find a way to incorporate them into socks that would take advantage of self-striping yarn.

These socks have a fair amount of seaming. Be forewarned! They are worked cuff-down with a fore-thought heel. At the end of the directions there are some options for knitting the foot differently (squares on the instep with a plain sole, or an entirely plain foot. Knitter’s choice!!

This pattern uses an slightly above average amount of yarn per sock, so all but the largest feet should be able to get a pair of socks out of 100 gms/440 yards of fingering weight sock yarn.
