Memories of Lilacs
The Memories of Lilacs beanie has a slightly slouchy fit, featuring a wide, cosy, ear warming, decorative rib band and an easy 4 petal lace design with an eye catching crown.
Assumed knowledge: German Twist cast on method
Materials:
140 m of 8 ply/DK White Gum Merino
Needles:
3.50 mm 40 cm (16”) circular needles and 4 mm 40 cm (16”) circular needles.
4 mm DPN/Crasytrios or longer cable for magic loop
Needle size may vary to achieve correct gauge
Notions:
8 stitch markers, one distinctive to the rest
Darning needle
Stitch Legend:
… repeat instructions between the asterisks
st/s: Stitch/es
pm: Place marker
sm: Slip marker
rm: Remove marker
yo: yarn over
k: Knit
p: Purl
k2LT: Knit two with a left twist
Instructions: Working with the next two stitches on your left hand needle, Insert your right hand needle into the second stitch on your left needle, through the back loop, knit the stitch and leave it on the left hand needle
Bring your right hand needle around to the front of your work and insert your right hand needle into the first stitch, knitwise, knit the stitch as normal. Slip both stitches off the left needle together
Tmssk: twisted modified slip, slip, knit decrease: slip 1 as if to knit, slip 1 as if to purl, insert left hand needle into both stitches, from left to right, keeping the left hand needle in front knit the stitches together through the back loop. Give it a light tug to keep it snug. If you have a different left leaning decrease you prefer feel free to substitute
k2tog: knit two stitches together
sl1pw: slip one stitch as if to purl
