Designed for a single 100g skein of 4-ply yarn, this small crescent shaped shawl is an ideal introduction to lace knitting, suitable for beginners and those with a little experience.

It features a simple 6-row pattern for the body, with a slightly more complex edging. It’s worked from the top neck down, and the size can easily be adjusted by repeating the body pattern.

The pattern uses basic stitches, and is both charted and fully written.

Correction
There is a typo in the written instructions for Row 11 of the edging. This should read:

s1pwise, k2, yo, kyk, k3, {k3, yo, s1k1psso, k3, k2tog, yo, k2}, k4, kyk, yo, k3

The chart is correct.

I will be issuing a new version in the near future which includes instructions for a laceweight shawl with a slightly deeper edging.
