I achieved gauge with a 5mm/H hook but you may need something different. During construction, at times I recommend dropping a hook size, or increasing a hook size, depending on what is needful at the time. Due to the manner of construction, this blanket is a bit heavier than you might expect.

This pattern was written for my boyfriend who can (and will) deliver all the lines of every episode of Twin Peaks, pitch perfect. When we first met, he may have undersold this quality somewhat, as I was deeply amused by his reaction when I told him that I’d only ever seen one Lynch film (Dune) and a few episodes of Twin Peaks. He then set out to correct this oversight in my cinematic education, and I fell in love with him a little bit more every day, with every new episode we watched, every movie he dusted off and brought over to watch.

As a result of all this, I’ve carefully designed and lovingly constructed this blanket, and have had this pattern thoroughly tested by two different pros, all for the man in my life who has been the most supportive of any and all of my creative endeavours. I could tell him right now “I think I want to be a dictator today” and he would come back in minutes with a ranked spreadsheet of the most vulnerable world governments, and the best ways to attack them and hold on to power for as long as possible. He keeps me warm, so it’s my turn to do the same for him.
