Meadowsweet skirt
Meadowsweet Skirt is inspired by the vintage doily motive, resembling Meadowsweet flower stems, that decorate the hem of the skirt. Drawstring belt is made using a crochet cord technique and features large tassels. Optional lining can be added to give this garment a professional finish.
The body of the skirt is worked in a simple eyelet pattern. The lace border is done over 16 rounds, with only basic crochet stitches: chain, single crochet, and double crochet (US terms.) Using a larger hook for this project, gives extra drape to the finished garment, and makes it a fast project that can be done in just a few days.
I have made this skirt with 2 stands of crochet thread #10, but you can also use a single strand of fingering or sport weight yarn.

Size: 40” (44”, 48” 52”, 56”, 60”) garment circumference, intended with 2”-4” of positive ease at the hips.
Gauge: 16dc x 9rows=4”x4” in pattern stitch, with 2 strands of #10 crochet thread, or a single strand of fingering weight yarn.

Size F crochet hook
Crochet thread #10, Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet#10, Russet (350yds/80g), 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7) balls/1400 (1750, 1750, 1900, 2100, 2450) yards, used double.

Tape measure
¾ - 1 ½ yard of fabric for the lining (optional)
