Meadow
Part of the Prairie Grains Collection –
Yarns dyed on the prairies, for patterns inspired by the prairies
Pattern Description
The colour for meadow is based upon all the beautiful prairie grasses we are able to enjoy here on the prairies. Pairing inspiration with this colourway, the inspiration for this pattern comes from taking walks in a prairie meadow, and lots of little burs and other bits of foliage getting stuck to socks.
These socks are based on a 2x2 rib pattern, interrupted with seeded rib rounds, to represent the bits of bur and foliage. The seeded rib stitch as a background provides a lot of flexibility and longevity for the shape of the sock. Along with the fibre content which Ashlee chose to use as the base yarn, these socks should wear very well, and for a long time.
The socks are knit from the top down, with a heel flap construction, and rounded toe.
