This pattern in currently in tech editing - I will release an update as soon as editing is complete.

Sometimes, inspiration can come from the strangest of places. In this instance, it came from the striking fabric print of an Alexander McQueen swimsuit that I glimpsed online. I fell in love with the muted jewel tones and asked Marianated Yarns if we could create a new gradient set. The resulting shawl is a celebration of rich, vibrant colors in simple chevron lace.

This pattern contains both fully charted and written instructions.

Recommended Yarn:

Marianated Yarns Scrumptious HT, Six Pack Perfection gradient set — 80% superwash merino / 10% cashmere / 10% nylon — 800 yds to 200 g in total. Shown in Koi Pond gradient. (Contrast Colors referred to in order of usage as CC1-CC6).

Marianated Yarns Scrumptious HT, one solid skein (Main Color - MC) — 400 yds to 100 g. Shown in Fieldstone.

Sizing:
73” (185 cm) across and 32” (81 cm) deep.

Blocked Gauge:
22 sts and 36 rows to 4” (10 cm) in stockinette st and 21 rows and 38 rows to 4” (10 cm) in lace.

Needles:
US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needle, 32” length, plus US 5 (4 mm) needle for bind-off.

PLEASE NOTE: I actually used a US 5 (3.75 mm) needle for the sample, with a US 6 (4 mm) needle for the bind-off. If you have knit other patterns of mine, please know that I don’t knit quite as tightly now as I did in years past, but I am still a somewhat tight knitter. Changes in gauge will affect finished size, look of motifs, and amount of yarn used.

In particular, yardage may run tight with CC-6 if you are knitting at a looser gauge.

Other Materials:
Four stitch markers, tapestry needle.
