McKittrick Canyon was the highlight of my first vacation in Texas. I hope you click the link and read about this beautiful spot and the generous Texan who donated the land to the National Park Service for all to be able to enjoy this treasure.

While the towering walls of McKittrick Canyon protect the riches of diversity, its precious secrets are hidden in riparian oasis. It is no wonder that it has been described as the “most beautiful spot in Texas.”

The Shawl combines mosaic knitting with cushy garter stitch stripes.
In mosaic knitting rows are worked in pairs, two rows using the same color. The first row work as indicated in the pattern. On the second row, using the same color, you knit the same sts you knit in the previous row, and slip the same sts you slipped. Choose two colors of yarn with lots of contrast for best results.

The shawl begins with a garter tab. The 19 stitch mosaic pattern is worked between the stitch markers in the center spine of the shawl. Follow the written instructions or the chart for the mosaic pattern.
