Construction: This pullover is worked from the top down and in the round with the contiguous sleeve construction method. It is worked entirely in 2x2 rib and designed to be worn with some negative ease. You have a choice of making a sweater or dress version. While the sweater version has no shaping in the body, the dress version has a slight A-line shape. The neck and yoke have German Short Rows to raise the back.

Knitting level: Intermediate

Skills required: tubular cast-on, German Short Rows, backward loop Increases, and maintaining rib pattern while increasing/decreasing

Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9) sample is Size 2, worn with 2”/5 cm of negative ease in the chest

Finished chest measurement:
28¼ (31¼, 34¼, 38¾, 43½)(48, 51, 54, 58¾)“
72 (79½, 87, 98.5, 110.5)(122, 129.5, 137, 149) cm
of chest circumference, with recommended negative ease of 1-5” / 2.5-13 cm

Yarn options:

Modus Operandi Alpaca DK, light DK weight; 100% superfine alpaca, approximately 660 yards per 225 grams; Obsidian colorway

Purl Soho Wigeon, sport weight, 100% fine Falkland merino, approximately 360 yards per 100 grams, Yellow Curry colorway

Nature Spun Sport, sport weight, 100% US grown wool, approximately 185 yards per 50 grams, Pepper colorway
Suggested alternatives: sport/light DK weight alpaca and wool yarns

Note: If you like more structure in your sweater, I’d suggest non-superwash 100% wool yarns. If you’d like some drape and flow, alpaca and superwash wool yarns will work better.
