MATCHA WRAP, the shawl is quite dense using the front post stitches but still with a nice drape.

To make the color gradient stand out optimally, I started with the dark color (from the inside out) and continued to the middle of the wrap. In the middle I attached the other ball of Whirl with the lightest color (from the outside to the inside). This way you create a beautiful color gradient to the outside, just like on the green tea plantations that are in the shade for a long time, because we only get the best and tastiest matcha from shady plantations. Therefore the name Matcha Wrap. The addition of the lace edge in Whirlette gives the shawl an elegant yet playful look.

My shawl is 55 cm x 180 cm. The size of the crochet shawl depends on the yarn and crochet hook used.

BEFORE YOU START:

1. The Matcha Wrap is a rectangular shawl and is worked back and forth with two balls of Whirl. The lace edge is worked on both short sides with Whirlette.
2. The basis of this shawl is simple. The entire shawl is a repeat of only 6 rounds, turn after each round.
3. It is important that the shawl falls smoothly and is large enough with this pattern. It is recommended to crochet the gauge swatch. If you find yourself crocheting tight, use a bigger hook!
4. Make sure you are familiar with the special stitches (front and back post stitches and clusters) before you begin.
5. The first ch3 at the beginning of a row counts as a double crochet. 6. It may be helpful to place a stitch marker in the third chain.
6. The last stitches of a row are made in the third chain of the previous row.
7. This pattern contains 2 diagrams, one for the body of the shawl and one for the lace edge. Start each round at the number of the round. Follow the odd rows from right to left and the even rows from left to right.
8. Block the shawl. This makes your shawl more beautiful.
9. The pattern contains options to use with one ball of Whirl or alternative yarn.
