Wherever you see this shawl construction – and you see it a lot this day – keep in mind that I was the one who invented it and used it first in my patterns Mrs Watson and Thousand Tulips.

I just love the “We’re Different”-Grab Bags from Rohrspatz & Wollmeise: Depending on which kind you choose, you will get a combination of a multicolor and a matching semisolid, hand-picked by the dyemaster herself, who has an unmatched sense of color. What shall I say? I was really surprised when I saw that she teamed up a softly variegated brown-grey with a bold and warm red. I just had to give it a try and get my knitting needles moving! So here’s “Match + Move”, a shawl designed to show off the perfect Wollmeise color combination and use up (almost!) an entire grab bag of yarn. My shawl weighs 286 Grams. The unusual construction results in kinked stripes that look really interesting when you wear it. The knitting is plain garter stitch and very relaxing, and the shawl is so big and comfy, it is just a dream to wear. Definitely my favorite shawl so far – and I am determined to order another grab bag, be surprised and knit myself one more.

In meinem neuen Buch “Strickmich! Originale” findet man die modifizierte Anleitung für eine Version aus der “Tough Love Sock” von Sweet Georgia.

Und übrigens: Diese Konstruktion, die man heute überall auf Ravelry sieht, wurde von mir erfunden. “Match & Move” ist eines der ersten Tücher mit dieser Konstruktion, die ich davor schon in Mrs Watson und Thousand Tulips verwendet habe.

Die „We’re Different“ („Wir sind anders“)-Tüten von Rohrspatz & Wollmeise sind wahre kleine Woll-Wundertüten – je nachdem, welche Sorte man nimmt, bekommt man eine exklusiv von der Färbemeisterin zusammengestellte Kombination („Match“) aus einem Multicolor- und einem einfarbigen Strang. Mit ihrem unvergleichlichen Farb-Sinn überrascht sie mich jedes Mal! Als ich in einer Tüte ein sanftes Grau-Braun kombiniert mit einem kräftigen Zimtrot fand, war ich fasziniert und musste meine Stricknadeln sofort in Bewegung („Move“) setzen. Das Ergebnis ist „Match & Move“, ein Tuch, das auch mit wilderen Multicolors schön aussieht und fast das ganze Garn aus einer Überraschungstüte aufbraucht – meins wiegt 286 Gramm. Die ungewöhnliche Konstruktion erzeugt pfeilförmige Blockstreifen, die beim Tragen schön spannend aussehen. Beim Stricken kann man dagegen herrlich relaxen: Fast nur rechte Maschen und ein paar Zu- und Abnahmen. Das Ergebnis ist so wunderbar weich und groß, dass es jetzt schon mein absolutes Lieblingstuch ist. Und ich bin fest entschlossen, mir gleich aus der nächsten Tüte noch eins zu stricken!
