The Marta Vest is worked top down. It begins flat, as you cast on sts for the back and work to the underarm. Then sts are picked up at the shoulders, followed by a series of short rows to accommodate the neck opening and comfortably embrace the back. Afterwards, the fronts are worked to the underarm and the body is joined to be worked in one piece to the hem. Button plackets, armholes, and collar are worked after picking up sts and neatly finished in a sewn bind-off.

Level of difficulty: 4 out of 5
