Marling into Darkness is a topdown shawl, worked from the centre out.

Playing with 2 different shades of lace yarn held together (double stranded) to achieve a lovely marled effect.

1 solid colour and 1 variegated one resulting in a gradient look at the same time.

A very attractive, yet simple dense structured stitch pattern with simple pattern row repeats shapes the body of the shawl.

The wingspan is wide and comfortable. The size of the shawl is very easily adjustable.

A delicate black single stranded border finishes this shawl design.

Fully written pattern, with charts and schematic.

Yarn used for the sample : Kokon Alpaca lace, 100 % baby alpca, 100g/800m/875yd.
1 full skein of shade Ink (gradient, from light grey to black)
600 m of shade Stone.

Tested and edited.

Tip : I designed ‘Kokon Lace Shawl’ using the same marvellous Kokon Lace Yarn. You can make both shawl designs with 3 skeins of Kokon Lace. (2 x shade Stone and 1 x shade Ink).
