Mariola Shawl
This pattern is a Polish inspired creation for my number one fan, Mariola Malinowska. It’s designed to be reminiscent of pisanki eggs.
This is a triangular shawl. This pattern is for beginner to intermediate crocheters. Stitches include: chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, treble crochet, half double crochet two together, back post double crochet, front post double crochet, treble cluster, y-stitch, puff stitch (popcorns or clusters can be used instead).
The cover model uses yarn from Polish company Kokonki (follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Kokonki.motki/) - yarn that is fabulous to work with and a HUGE range of colours. About 1500m of a light (#3) weight yarn completed two repeats of the pattern, and the “less decorative” edge option - a Scheepjes Whirl and Whirlette would get two repeats and the more decorative edge option complete.
IMPORTANT
Following the unfortunate piracy of my Mariola pattern by unauthorised Russian translators, I have updated the Mariola shawl. It has much improved charting and instructions. PLUS it’s been translated into 4 other languages—Polish, French, Dutch, and Russian.
Please only purchase your patterns through here. This will ensure you always receive any updates—like this one!
If you so happen to see any further unauthorised versions, on my behalf please demand that they be taken down. Also point crocheters to this official listing https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mariola-shawl.
