Though it may seem cliché, the French really do wear striped sailor shirts. For a slightly different take, why not knit up some charming mitts with stripes? Use a speckled yarn for your background color to make these extra special. Pattern is for both mitts and matching hat
SIZE
S (M, L) to fit hand circumference of 6 (6½, 7) inches/15 (16.5, 18) cm
MATERIALS
- Tôt Le Matin TOT SOCK 100% (100% Superwash Merino; 436 yd/400 m per 100 g skein) or similar fingering yarn; MC: Amelie; 1 (1, 1) skein or approximately 80 (88, 97) m; CC: Dark; 1 (1, 1) skein or approximately 48 (54, 59) m
- US3/3.25 mm circular needle, 24-inch/60 cm (or size needed to achieve gauge)
- US2.5/3.0 mm circular needle, 24-inch/60 cm (or approximately 0.5 mm smaller than gauge needle)
- Tapestry needle, stitch markers, waste yarn for holding thumb stitches
GAUGE
29 sts x 41 rnds = 4 inches/10 cm in the rnd in Stockinette stitch with larger needles, after blocking
