Marine Layer (Mitts)
I have updated and graded these mitts for three sizes, which are for sale in the pdf. I have also created a pdf with the matching scarf and cowl included as an e-book. A version is still available at Knotions, but only includes one size, the medium.
A marine layer is an air mass that forms over the surface of a large body of water which often creates fog within itself. These mitts are part of a quick to knit coordinating set, inspired by this weather pattern.
Using twisted rib and two complementary colors in “singles” yarn to imitate layers forming over water and fog enclosing fog, these accessories combine visual appeal and textural interest with coziness and warmth.
Finished Measurements: approximately 5 (6.25, 7.5) inches / 12.5 (15.5, 18.5) cm finished circumference around hand (stretches to fit much larger sizes - my husband could just wear the the adult medium and normally wears a medium to large men’s sized glove)
Yardage Estimates: approximately 90 (110, 135) yards / 85 (100, 125) meters of Aran weight singles yarn in Main Color (MC)
and 10 (10, 15) yards / 10 (10, 15) meters of Contrast Color (CC)
