Marigold
To strew thy green with flowers; the yellows, blues, The purple violets, and marigolds.
- William Shakespeare
This is a pattern for a adjusted dropped sleeve cardigan. It is worked from the bottom up and in the round with multiple steeks. if you are using a 7 st steek, any reinforcement should work well. However, if you are using smaller steeks, machine sewn steek reinforcement is suggested with Gerty yarn. There are 3 rounds using 3 colours. There is no waist shaping for this project.
The sleeves are extra-long, but you may make adjustments in rib length or motif repeat to shorten. Sleeves are fully charted and have instructions for relaxed {fitted} sleeves. Please, see schematic (images) for approximate finished sizes, to find your preferred fit.
Sleeve cap is shaped, working from the top down and then the body of the sleeve is worked from the bottom up. The live sts are then joined using the grafting or joining technique of your choice (the sample shows the Russian graft).
Marigold is a pattern intended for the more experienced (or ambitious intermediate) knitter comfortable with charts, steeks, and multiple tasks over a single round.
