TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN
Links to videos for selected techniques are included. I look for videos as close as possible to the instructions I have written. Sometimes they may be slightly different but still very helpful.
- Cast-on
- 2 x 2 ribbing
- Garter stitch
- Bobbles
- Pick-up and knit stitches
YARN USED FOR SAMPLE
- 1(1) skein Rio de la Plata—Multi Color
- 100% wool
- 3.5 ounces-(99 grams)- (140 yards-(128 meters)
- Small amounts of any yarn for optional flowers
For your hat to be the correct size, it is not the brand of yarn that matters, but the GAUGE that is important. It is best to refer to the yardage to determine how many skeins or balls to purchase.

- Size 9-(5.5 mm) circular needle, 16 inches-(40 cm) long
- Size 10-(6 mm) circular needle, 16 inches-(40 cm) long
- Size 10 (6 mm) double pointed needles

- Optional: a few beads for the center of the flower
