The Posillipo hill lays to the south-west from the center of Naples. The palazzos dot the hill, facing the breathtaking view to the Gulf of Naples. When you reach the top of the hill, take a winding road down towards the sea and you’ll find the Marechiaro village.

When you reach the coastline, the water is crystal clear between the rocks. Small colorful boats lazily swing by the pier.
Choose your table in a small trattoria, take a seat and let your soul rest while your eyes reach the Vesuvio on the other side of the gulf.

Marechiaro is a lace yoke tee with large round neckline,
worked seamlessly top-down. The lace covers the upper yoke. Short rows are worked after the lace and the yoke depth is customizable. After separating the sleeve sts, the body is knit in the round. The hem is split with a slightly longer back hem. The sleeves are worked last. Instructions are given for a smaller neckline.

The tee is intended to be worn with 0 – 5 cm / 0 – 2” of negative ease at bust. If you prefer a looser fit, choose a size with up to 5 cm / 2” of positive ease.
Sample is worn in size 1 with 0.5 cm / 0.25” negative ease.

Needles
3.25 mm (US 3) – 60 – 100 cm / 24 – 40” circular needles, or as required to obtain gauge.
3 mm (US 2.5) needles for the CO and ribbing.
If preferred, DPNs or short circulars for small circumference knitting.

Gauge
22.5 sts x 31 rnds = 10 cm /4” with 3.25 mm (US 3) needles in both in Marechiaro lace and stockinette st in the round after blocking.
NOTE that the sample uses sport weight yarn. DK-weight yarn might give the right gauge, but the resulting fabric might have no drape and the lace might get stiff. Make sure to swatch carefully.

2 st markers, 2 st holders / spare cables or scrap yarn, cable needle, tapestry needle.
Optional: 10, 11, 12 (13, 15, 15) 16, 17, 18, 20 st markers for pattern repeats.
