Mama Chicken was a totally spontaneous affair. After I made my Super Quick Easter Chicks, I figured they’d get awfully lonely without a Mama.

And if I had to make a Mama, I might as well make one that could double as a bag (both flat AND 3-dimensional).

She works up quick enough (48 st’s x 26 rows, you do the math). But because you use 2 strands of chunky/bulky yarn, your arm will get a bit of a workout.
