Malva is an elegant and simple lace shawl, with a stockinette stitch body and a beautiful lace edging. It has a crescent shape that makes it drape well over the shoulders.
The flower motif on the lace edging is worked with traditional estonian lace stitches. The knitting starts with the lace edging. Stitches are then picked up along the edge, and the shawl is is shaped with short rows.

The pattern is suitable for intermediate knitters. Specific required skills are listed below. Instructions are both written and charted. 14 sts/32 rows = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Gauge is not important in this pattern, but a different gauge will affect the finished size and the yarn requirement.
