I had always wanted to experiment with rubber slippers, to embellish them with crochet, though I wasn’t sure the other methods of making holes would work for me. I didn’t want to use thick yarn for the base. Then out of the blue, I tried piercing the edge with a staple remover. The method worked for me, as you can see in my tutorial video.

For the crochet part, I also didn’t think that working scs over the strap would work, as that would make the slipper tight to wear. So I just make crocheted strap and attach it to the flip-flop strap.
