Majse Sweater
Size: XS-S (M-L) XL-XXL correspond to a circumference of 130 cm (144 cm) 160 cm. Thissweater is intended to have an oversized fit, with a relatively large positive ease. It is
recommended to have a positive ease of approx. 30-50 cm but select a size you think will suit you best. Do have a look at the hashtag #majsesweater to see the same size on
different bodies. On the pictures in the pattern and here on the site you can see both myself (chest circumference 83 cm, first 4 pictures) and a model (chest circumference 98 cm. last two pictures) wearing a size M/L.
Yarn: 250 (250) 300 g Önling No 20 (50 g = approx. 225m), 125 (125) 150 g Önling No 10
(25g = approx.. 210 m) and 230 (230) 230 g Önling No 12 (115g = 800m).
Materials: 4 SM circular needle (40 cm and 100 cm), 5 SM circular needle (60 - 100 cm),
4,5 SM circular needle (100 - 120 cm). If not using magic loop, you need 4 SM, 4.5 SM
and 5 SM double pointed needles. 5 stitch markers.
Gauge: 16 x 23 sts = 10 x 10 cm after blocking.
My idea with the Majse Sweater was to make a sweater with a slightly different shapethat had subtle, elegant details that are flattering. The sleeves are voluminous at the top, and decreases are made towards the cuff to give a tighter fit around the wrist - a detail I value in a sweater, so you can easily roll up your sleeves, which is how I often wear them everyday. The body of the sweater is oversized and lightly cropped, which gives a lot of room to move. There aren’t many difficult techniques used in this sweater, but on the other hand, you have to make a lot of increases in different ways - both for the sleeves and the body, so I can recommend you find either paper and a pen or a knitting counter.
Happy knitting.
