This little vest begins with the ribbing for the body and moves to stocking stitch at chest level. Stitches are cast on at either side for the magyar sleeves. Space for the head is made in the middle of the vest, which is then completed in a similar way for the second side. The neck edge is finished with a crochet edging all round, and it is fastened by a couple of buttons on either shoulder.
The pattern was first published in the early 1940s and the vintage yarn is no longer available. One of the finer 4 ply yarns would work now, 2 ounces are required.
