Maggie is a vintage-inspired children’s cardigan worked in a simple yet effective eyelet pattern. The pattern is worked over a 4-row repeat, with special techniques only on one row, making it the perfect project for a confident beginner knitter wanting to expand their skills.

Maggie is a raglan cardigan worked flat on two needles, knitting back, fronts and sleeves separately and then seamed together.
Button bands for cardigan opening edge are then picked up and worked afterwards.

• English language knitting pattern.
• 4 sizes included: 6 - 12 months, 2 - 4 years, 4 - 6 years months & 6 - 8 years.
• Skill level: Confident beginner / Intermediate.
• Yarn weight: DK.
• Yarn amounts: Approximately 630 m - 910 m / 690 yds - 1000 yds depending on chosen size. Please note some knitters have experienced needing less yarn than the amounts suggested when using alternative yarns.
• Tension: Decorative stitch pattern - 32 stitches & 30 rows over 10 cm x 10 cm / 4 ″ x 4″.
• Needle size: 3.25 mm / US 3 & 4 mm / US 6 needles (or equivalent to obtain correct tension). Optional: 3.25 mm / US 3 circular needle, 80 cm / 32 inches (or larger) for cardigan opening edge.
• Construction: Worked flat, bottom-up with raglan shaping for sleeves. Front pieces, back and sleeves seamed together.
• Techniques used: Decorative eyelet stitch, ribbing, eyelet buttonholes, increases & decreases while maintaining decorative stitch pattern, picking up and knitting stitches for cardigan opening edge, seaming. All patterns are written in ENGLISH
