Three simple rectangles are knit from the bottom up starting with a garter section and ending with an open check pattern for the yoke. A garter band is added to the yoke fronts for a button and buttonhole closure after the shoulders are seamed.
Pattern does not mention of side seams but they are obviously required.
“yf” is used with two separate meanings in the check pattern. On the right side to bring the yarn forward to slip with yarn in front. On the wrong side to bring the yarn forward over the needle.
