Madewell
I wanted to make a very basic cardigan and add something special to the pattern… I wanted to find a sweater with a perfectly grandpa look. The yarn I used reminded me of denim color, and I didn’t want to loose that sporty feeling by adding a stitch pattern or more detail… And then I thought of adding these optional Elbow Patches that make it unique.
This is a great plain basic sweater. Great shaping, goes with everything, is really light and easy to wear. The elbow are patches worked separately and then sewn into place for perfect placement… You could also add them to your other sweaters!
The ones on the Pinterest image that inspired this were actually a darned section of the sweater, so I tried to make my version look woven, as if the sweater was mended in that place.
Use your favorite leftovers for them and, our favorite part: play with colors! Your sweater might end up looking completely different once you are done with them!!
