This pattern includes a second PDF version that is formatted for knitters with low vision. It has black text, size 22 or larger text in a sans serif font, no italics, no columns, and fully-written directions. Many thanks to Gemma Thompson (gemmabelle here on Rav) for her guidance in formatting patterns in a more accessible way.

When I released the Madeleine Mitts and the Madeleine Hat back in 2020, I knew there was something special about the stitch pattern. As tends to happen, I couldn’t get it out of my head, so I revisited the pattern and made a DK-weight version of the hat—but that still wasn’t enough.

And so, the Madeleine Socks were born. These cuff-down socks use the classic Madeleine stitch motif down the front and back panels of the socks. The socks are graded to five sizes and feature a heel flap with gusset for a customizable fit. They’re finished off with a wedge toe.
