“Macallan balances simple design and intricate detail. The clean V neck front features subtle detailing on pockets that sit below the waist, while the back indulges in texture and movement with a heavily cabled panel. Look more closely, though, and you’ll notice that the details make the sweater modern and flattering – the pockets are faux, reducing any additional bulk at the waist, and the tails of the cables flow unbroken into the ribbing below. CONSTRUCTION

• Loft yarn is held double throughout for increased stitch definition. If using a worsted weight yarn, use a single strand only.
• Pieces are worked flat from the bottom up, and seamed together during finishing.
• Ribbings for the Front faux pockets are picked up and worked after knitting the Front.
• Armhole and neck bands are picked up and worked circularly, directly from the garment.

Approximately 560 (665, 755, 830, 950, 1050, 1235) yards of worsted weight wool yarn
OR
Approximately 1120 (1330, 1505, 1655, 1895, 2095, 2470) yards of fingering weight wool yarn (held double throughout)
5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9) skeins of Brooklyn Tweed Loft (100% American Targhee-Columbia Wool; 275 yards/50g)

GAUGE
Working Gauge: 20 stitches & 32 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch with Gauge Needle and using fingering weight yarn held double; before blocking

Finished Gauge: 18 stitches & 30 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch with Gauge Needle and using fingering weight yarn held double; after blocking

82-stitch Cable Panel measures approximately 14” wide after blocking
15-stitch motif from Back Chart (stitches 8-22) measures approximately 2½” wide after blocking

NEEDLES
Size A (Gauge Needle): One pair of straight needles or a 24-32” circular needle in size needed to obtain gauge listed
Suggested Size: 4½ mm (US 7)

Size B (Ribbing Needle): One 16” circular needle three sizes smaller than Gauge Needle
Suggested Size: 3½ mm (US 4)
