Designed to showcase beautiful yarn, the Lyra Shawl is an asymmetrical triangle shape which is knitted in one piece on the bias. This shaping method creates a knitted fabric with beautiful drape. The long length created along the curved increase edge is usually worn as the top edge of the shawl. This wide wingspan is ideal for wrapping and draping.

To create this asymmetric shawl shape, after set up one stitch is decreased at the start of every right side row and two stitches are increased at the end of every right side row.

The stitch pattern consists of two garter stitch ridges on a stocking stitch background. This pattern is repeated throughout the shawl until the border is reached. The border is knitted in a garter stitch rib pattern.

The main stitches used in the shawl are k (knit), p (purl), kfb (knit into the front and back of the next stitch to make 1 st), kpk (knit, purl, knit into the next stitch to make 2 sts) and k2tog (knit 2 sts together).
