Grab 3 colors and play with stripes, lace and English ribbing (no Brioche stitch !)

“Lumina” is a triangular shawl, worked in one piece, from the top down. The edging is worked laterally and joined as you knit to the body of the shawl.

The name of this shawl is a wink to Joan Osborne’s song, who rocked my teenage years

COLOR CHOICE ADVICES
1) C1 is the color used for the stripes and the english ribbing part.
2) C2 is the color used for the stripes and the final edging.
3) C3 is the color used for the lace. My advice is to avoid speckled yarns for this color (but speckles work really well for C1 for example, that’s what I used).
4) C1 and C2 should have a real good contrast. To check that, don’t hesitate to take a pic of your 3 skeins and pass the pic in black and white on your phone. This way you can be assured that C1 and C2 are the most contrasting colors of your combo.

Voici “Lumina”, un châle qui représente le confort, les jolies mailles et les joyeux moments.
Choisissez 3 couleurs et jouez avec les rayures, la dentelle et les côtes anglaises (pas de brioche !).

“Lumina” est un châle triangulaire, qui se tricote d’une pièce, du haut vers le bas. La bordure finale est tricotée de manière latérale et rattachée au fur et à mesure au corps du châle.

Le nom de ce châle est un clin d’oeil à la chanson de Joan Osborne, qui a bercé mon adolescence

CONSEILS POUR LE CHOIX DES COULEURS
1) C1 est le coloris utilisé en rayures et pour la partie en côtes anglaises.
2) C2 est le coloris utilisé en rayures et pour la bordure finale.
3) C3 est le coloris utilisé pour la dentelle. Evitez peut-être les teintes à speckles (mais les speckles fonctionnent très bien en C1 par exemple, c’est ce que j’ai utilisé).
4) C1 et C2 doivent avoir un bon contraste. Pour vérifier, n’hésitez pas à prendre vos 3 écheveaux en photo puis passez la photo en noir/blanc sur votre téléphone. Vous pouvez alors vous assurer que C1 et C2 sont les 2 couleurs les plus contrastantes de votre combo.
