Young boys will love this homage to batman with the big bat flying across their backs! It is swiss darned on the back when the knitting is completed but before the garment is sewn up. When swiss darning the bat the most important thing is getting the placement right. To enable this we suggest counting the stitches on the back and marking out with tacking stitches the size of the chart. That way you can ensure that you have a couple of stitches free next to the shaping.

Alternatively, if you prefer you could knit the bats in using the intarsia technique.
