Lubov Scarf
I received a few questions about the RS (right side) and WS (wrong side) rows in this pattern. All odd-numbered rows are RS, and all even-numbered rows are WS.
From the description in “Brave New Knits”:
The ardent color of the yarn and the scarf’s softness and warm embrace all contribute to its name, Lubov, which means “love” in Russian. The scarf begins and ends with airy borders, which are connected by a series of diamond motifs. The diamonds are solid in the center of the scarf, to keep the neck warm and protected, and gradually transition to a more ornate and delicate version toward the ends of the scarf, where the airy borders organically emerge. As a cost-effective project, Lubov makes a single skein of this luxurious yarn go a long way.
Kathy’s note: I used about 140 grams/470 yards to knit this scarf. The pattern is charted in a series of charts which can be mixed and matched for different effects.
