The LoveLetter Cowl knitting pattern is a beautiful piece to knit up for autumn/winter.  It’s worked using only 2 x 100g skeins of Cowgirlblues Merino DK wool.  The project is suitable for an intermediate or experienced knitter as the two colour cast-on and rib technique takes some co-ordination and getting used to.  So you should be comfortable with working in the round and open to using both hands to hold the two different colours.  But it’s worth the effort to create a stunning signature piece.  And you’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

When considering your yarn colours I recommend picking a reasonably strong contrast or you won’t see the details of the rib.  And if you’re thinking you might wear it with the “wrong” side facing remember that the floats are all in the one colour. The yarn you use for the knit stitch will become the float yarn on the back.

We have a beautiful selection of colours in Merino DK.  You could choose one of the multi-colour skeins for your “knit” colour, and a semi-solid background colour for the purl stitches. I used Under Pressure https://cowgirlblues.co.za/shop/yarns/merino-dk-skein/mer... and Charcoal https://cowgirlblues.co.za/shop/yarns/merino-dk/merino-dk...
