Have you ever been put off from a lace project by all that stockinette fabric needing to be worked between the eyelets? Then you’ll love garter stitch lace and the Lovelace Shawl! This pattern was specifically designed not to require any purling whatsoever, for those who prefer working the knit stitch. The geometric motifs featured on the shawl can be easily paired with the different textures in your wardrobe, and you can take your pick of yarn options with instructions for both fingering weight and aran weight versions included!

Please note that the tassels featured on the shawl samples are entirely optional for you to make, whether you wish to leave them off because you are running out of yarn at the end of your project, or because you simply prefer how the shawl looks without them. Instructions for how to make a tassel, in the same sizes and for the same yardages as used for the samples, are provided in the pattern.
