Lourne is a sweater vest with a beautiful scallop lace border. The open front makes it a versatile piece for layering. Lourne also features a unique construction that eliminates the need for most finishing through its integrated lace border, armhole ribbing, and simple slipped stitch lower hem.

The vest is worked flat in one piece, beginning with a long horizontal Scallop Lace border that forms both front panels. After the border is complete, the work is divided into right and left fronts, each worked separately through armhole shaping. Back stitches are then cast on at each armhole. The two back halves are joined at center back using Kitchener Stitch, and the shoulders and back neck are finished with a single seam.
