The Lorca blanket is inspired by my travels in Spain.
The blanket is worked in one piece in mosaic garter stitch. Mosaic knitting is one of the easiest colourwork techniques. Just one colour is carried at any time. Work in two-row stripes, slipping the stitches to bring up the other colour.
The pattern is charted. Working colourwork from a chart is like knitting a picture, one colour at a time, stitch by stitch.
The sample (size M) was made in Aran weight yarn, Novita 7 Veljestä (MC #047 Light grey, CC #588 Cherry). It is a superwash yarn, 75% wool, 25% nylon. Different yarn weights and fibres can be used. Using different fibres affects the size of the blanket and the amount of yarn needed.
